I have two huge announcements: first, I am obsessed with my bitmoji. She’s a chef! Second, tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of when I took leightogreato.com public.
I know this sounds cheesy, but when I think back on the first year of Being Leighto Greato, I’m completely overwhelmed by the love and support from my friends and family. You guys have been great.
Shout out to my parents, who are not only my biggest fans, but my most frequent commenters. Sometimes people are too shy to comment publicly, but I love reading the comments and I love hearing what y’all think about my posts. And thanks and love and kisses to the Boyfriend, who puts up with my “recipe testing” by making the same dish over and over again with only small tweaks, trying to get something blog-worthy. He didn’t have put up with three lasagnas in February, but he happily helped me eat all of them, even though none were actually good enough to make it on the blog. He’s my best friend and my biggest cheerleader, and I couldn’t do leighto-greato.com without him. And to my friends here in NYC, who have all been incredibly understanding when I cancel dinner our plans to finish a blog post, and who have graciously agreed on what feels like a million occasions to skip dinner at one of New York’s many amazing restaurants to come over to my apartment to indulge me by eating a home-cooked meal instead: Thanks, and sorry I always took photos until long after the food was cold. And the biggest thanks to everyone — near and far — for taking the time to read leighto-greato and cook from my recipes. Being a part of your kitchen inspiration brings me joy (yeah, it got cheesy again) and makes me feel closer to everyone. I have come to really love connecting with all of you through this site, and am weirdly giddy about the future of this little website!
So shall we have a lil’ recap? The most popular recipes on the site this year were:
Annnnnnd those photos are linked if y’all want to head on over and check them out. I’m also adding a new feature to the end of every blog post. Now, just before you get to a recipe, you’ll be able to see what I was making this time last year.
So thanks for all the love and happy anniversary to me!!
