Guys. I have decided to start a new series on this here ol’ blog. I follow about a jillion food blogs and I could never make all of the things that I see that look delicious. I am only one girl and I technically have a day job.
But I want to share them with y’all! I spend literally hours every week reading about things that other people are cooking and it’s a huge source of inspiration for me. Think of this as a list of things I would make if I had more time / stomachs. There are two new resources on the site: first, I’ve posted a blog roll page, which you can find on the left side with the recipe pages. Then every week I’ll post a list called Greato Minds Think Alike! with my picks and faves from that week. Without further ado…
This week, the Internet prepared for July 4. I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad news. The good news: I’m spending the weekend at the beach in Delaware. It’s beautiful, I don’t have to work, and I am so excited for the sunshine and relaxation. The bad news: there is literally a hurricane outside. The Internet really focused on grilling recipes and spicy cocktails for a hot day, but I found a few gems that will be perfect for an indoor 4th. Cheese on a stick (whaaaat), fancy-schmancy zucchini toast, a fresh-creamy pesto, and a pretty fruit galette all seem like perfect foods to celebrate American while we watch the rain fall.
But while I’m dreaming of spending the day outside, I’ll dream about a grilled pizza. Why not?
I’m not looking forward to going back to work next week, but this grain salad would make a great weekday lunch, amirite?
Also, I’m on a bit of a gelato kick lately. I’ve gotten it in my head that strawberry balsamic gelato could be the bomb, but I’m still working out the kinks. This twist on strawberry gelato one is just fueling the obsession… and who can say no to blueberry buttermilk pie ice cream? Not this long-lost Texan.
Happy Fourth of July, everyone!
